Thought I'd start this thread since we are at the threshold of all the holiday madness! Hopefully people will share their thoughts and stories about the season in this thread.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and a safe weekend.

New holiday tradition at my house - gonna try to Shake n' Bake a turkey.... should be fun... maybe....

Oh well, Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to you and yours fellow San Antonio CD folks!
I'm thankful to have a job, a hubby and a doggie that I love dearly and a home to enjoy. Can't ask for more.

Happy Holidays. Hubby is not working (outside of schleppin pizzas part time) but we are still making the most of it and keeping with tradition. I'm thankful for my family, all healthy, my job and that I am back in school full time as well.

Default Traditions,

Here is what I have done for years. One turkey, very, very, seasoned mesquite, and a barrel bar-b-que pit.
Start a big bank of coals, soak the very dry mesquite in five gallon pails.
Put the turkey in, put the soaked mesquite on top of the coals( the wood will burn very slowly and at not at too high a temperature.
Wait 6-8 hours, the turkey comes out very delicious and tender. Took one over to my dads once, it was picked to the bone , the baked one was barely touched.
