I think the 2.4 million mentioned in the report is the San Antonio M.S.A.(metro area). The San Antonio city proper population will be about 1.41 million.

Maybe, but I find it hard to believe since the city takes about 80% of the MSA

It might be the large influx of illegals from AZ or other states coming here to TX looking for a safe haven in addition to the number of out of state people moving in for jobs.

Sorry off topic but whatever happened to that user hello something that was a PhD professor at UTSA that lived inside the loop. I think I had her as one of my professors for a political theory class. She hasn't posted in forever though.

The Mayor just tweeted "TX Census #'s are in: SA's population stands at 1,327,407! Houston still TX's largest city at 2,099,451. SA now outpaces Dallas (city) by more than 125,000 people. Austin now at 790,390, passes Ft. Worth."

1,327,407. That is the official 2010 census for San Antonio city limits released by the census bureau at 2:00 p.m. CST.
