Hi everyone, I know nothing about SA, will be visiting this month and would like to know where to start for communities in or near zip codes 78224 (Briggs Avenue) and/or 78251 (Wiseman Blvd).

I'm looking for ethnic diversity, yard space (but doesn't have to be a big yard), reasonable commute to work on Briggs Avenue 30 minutes or under, places to shop, restaurants, something (anything to do). I would also like something that is family-friendly but not looking at schools right now. I don't want anything that is a high-rise or building or even a garden apartment with people living on top or below.

I know I haven't given a ton of information here but that's because I don't know anything at all about SA. If you can tell me what is available that is close to these areas and how much it costs, I will be able to narrow down my questions a lot more.

Single family homes or townhomes that are in a little community where the nearest neighbor is not that far away.
I really love townhomes. Are these common in San Antonio? I have heard about Southtown - any thoughts on that area? What about walking? Any place in SA where you don't have to drive everywhere?
