There is a concert this week at Gruene Hall that starts at 8pm. Never driven there for a concert (but toured the building before). Has anyone ever attended a concert there? Any tips on drive times from SA/Huebner Rd to Gruene? Just wondering how bad traffic will be around 530-6pm on the way to Gruene.

Getting out of SA will be the challenge - getting to Gruene once you exit 35 should be a piece of cake. Figure 30-45 minutes tops because of concert traffic - depends on how many folks are coming. Normally, from 35 to Gruene is like 5-10 minutes.....

Just like anywhere in the city - between a certain time you don't want to be there. You should miss the majority of the traffic by 6:45-7pm. Also, the majority of traffic you'll hit will be in the 410 interchange areas (or 1604 depending on the route you take). The majority of people are headed in the opposite direction...south or west. Not north and east. Leaving about 45 minutes early (counting traffic) should get you there with plenty of time. The drive home should be a breeze.
