Been scanning the local news sites and have yet to see any updates. Very frustrating!

I watched the smoke yesterday afternoon from my office window. Whenever it seemed like it was under control, there would be another surge of thick black smoke. Scary.

Yes, we watched from our backyard and several times we thought it was out/under control---then the smoke would come back with a vengence! I really didn't want to go to sleep for fear I would wake up to fire in our backyard.

Search Twitter for street names and neighborhood names. Yesterday the term "Potranco" was trending there and it was a great source of updates. Twitter is where I got the updates I posted in the sticky thread.

If you don't have a Twitter account, get one... you'll need it to search and you don't ever have to tweet if you don't want to. My senior citizen mother has a Twitter account and follows local news sources, to keep up with the news in her area and she'll never ever send out a tweet.

On weekends, our TV stations and radio stations operate with skeleton crews. There just aren't as many reporters and people on duty to update the web sites. Using Twitter will help you fill in that gap.

Please post updates in the sticky thread. I'm leaving this thread open to discuss where to get news updates on that fire.

The news stations here in San Antonio are appallingly bad. They'll talk about football and single house fires started by drunk teenagers completely unrelated to wildfires before they'll ever talk about an ACTUAL threat to a large group of homes, let alone give more than 5 precious minutes of attention to discuss it in detail. I mean, my God, we have high school football to discuss, and let's not forget the COWBOYS, I mean, the sportscasters here get erect at the mere mention of their name.

This was a problem in Austin, and complaints spread around the city quickly. KLBJ radio became the source for information and everyone was wondering: why did the television media drop the ball? Nobody knows, but it is clearly happening here as well.

I don't know about you guys but i saw more updates from the fire in Stone Oak earlier in the week then i did with our fire here on our side of town. All i know is that not having any updates from 10:30 pm last night until 9am this morning is freaking ridiculous!
