How'd I spend the snow day? Sledding down Hillcrest Road on plastic trashcan lids. Wish I had thought to take the trucks and wheels off my skateboard and I could have invented snowboarding well before its time (never did dare go down Hillcrest on my skateboard anyway, lol)

I wasn't here (I was stationed in Idaho at the time, which had plenty of snow itself!), but it was well documented by a Helotes resident...

Cheers! M2

Sorry, but the first snowboard was built in 1965 here in the US and there were already competitions by the 1970s. Burton Snowboards, one of the largest snowboarding companies, was launched in 1977.

But you possibly would have been the first person to snowboard in San Antonio!

Cheers! M2

Good stuff----just to have a little fun why hasnt George Strait written a storm entitled the snows of San Antonio.

Obviously, San Antonio is not prepared for major snows----I could imagine the havoc and chaos a significant snow event would cause in our great state of Florida----yikes, the thought.

Enjoyed the videos of the storm------you have a pretty city San Antonio---be proud of it----never realized you had a 14 inch snowstorm.

Just to point out-----I am a huge Strait and Country Music fan-----so was just having some fun.

Unfortunately in Santa Fe, NM. My mom had transfered to a store she worked at here in SA to one up there and of course it snows here. I was sooo mad!!! I was so glad to get back to SA the following year but of course it never has done that again.

I was on vacation in California. My dad drove a couple hundred miles out of the way so we could see snow, and it was just a little patchy stuff on a hillside. Came home and it snowed a few days later.

We didn't get to go anywhere cool, but we dragged home all the old Christmas trees everyone had put out at the curb, and packed ice on top to make a snow fort.

I was visiting with my grandparents who lived in Northern Hills off of Nacogdoches and Bell Drive. We walked over to the golf course and cross country skied.
