From mysa.com:

San Antonio is indeed sending more college grads out into the world because there are more here.

In the decade ended in 2010, the percentage of the residents with a bachelor's degree or higher increased by 48 percent, while the overall population grew by roughly half that, according to U.S. Census data.

That makes it the sixth-fastest growing talent market in the country, Russell said. Austin ranks fourth as it increased its college-educated population by 52 percent.

these stats/stories are useless. There isnt a large viable young educated professional demographic in SA like the other large TX cities. I dont know what degrees these people are getting.

What would you define professional? Bachelor of Arts in Business?
San Antonio could use more technical and medical graduates, maybe not so much professional specifically.

Professionals prevalent in major metro areas are the same geniuses the screwed up the financial markets. Last thing the city needs are more overzealous fools that make up financial products as they see fit.

That's great. Ive been wondering when Austin's college educated population would hit 50%+ of the entire pop. and by the looks of these numbers, I would say within a year or so.

I am just happy to see the trends are moving the right way. Having a college degree will open more doors for these grads. And I saw where more grads are staying here in SA.

I think you'd need info like how many of those people are working in fields related to those degrees, how many settled for just any old job because they can't leave, how many are unemployed, etc. I have my doubts about this.

If you had a degree and wanted to work in a specific field but couldn't find work in San Antonio you would probably move...

If you were unemployed had a degree and some other city had the jobs in your field you would move out of San Antonio...

So the numbers should be the same.
