I don't think anyone believed Paula Deen's food was healthy and I certainly never heard her present any of it that way (though I never watched much). Anthony always seemed like one of those guys that was really good at listening to stories and polishing them into something that he did or witnessed. My eyes were stuck in a permanent roll about 100 pages into Kitchen Confidential. I have enjoyed some of his TV shows, though.

Bourdain is a chef, but his show is about travel, rather than cooking. I don't think I ever saw him cook on "No Reservations."

Then you missed the episode where he went back behind the line at Les Halles. I don't know what the point of the episode was, but he did it.

I don't really consider Tony a chef at this point and have not for the last 10 to 15 years. He is a restauranteur and tv personality. You will not find him working in a kitchen.

BTW, i'm glad people enjoyed the show. I missed the Groupon deal or I would have jumped in.

He also cooked for his staff when they were in Beirut. Btw, Juan, calling Paula Deen and Sandra Lee chefs is a HUGE stretch.

That Beirut episode was I think the best out of the entire series!

Also the point about Paula Deen was apparently she knew for years she had diabetes and continued to push her recipes knowing that they were the cause of her illness. And totally agree Sandra Lee is not a chef by any means !!

Frankly, someone that's developed type II diabetes from her down home cooking recipes is exactly the person I want to consult when it comes time to make that stuff. Remember, it isn't a disease, it's a choice.
