Yeah, it's an over two-and-a-half-year-old post; but I was just watching another report by KENS5 reporter Marvin Hurst and wanted to concur with this statement.

I like how the man reports the news. No sensationalism, no gawdy make-up or plastic-looking hair, Marvin Hurst is the kind of reporting that concentrates on the facts and leaves the BS theatrics behind!

Hurst is one of those under-the-radar types, he does his job extremely well but also without much fanfare. I think he is highly underrated, and it would be nice to see him promoted to an anchor position one day!

Cheers! M2

I can't stand Great Day SA anymore. When Kristina and Megan were on I prefered it and they were really sweet. I like Bridget, but I don't like where the show is now.

I hate the fact that the news is 90% police reports.
Do the TV stations do any journalistic work or do they just copy/paste the police reports everyday?
This is the way the news usually goes: Shooting, burning, killed, killed, killed, stabbed, stabbed, pedophile, stabbed, pedophile, drug bust, etc, etc.

Is there ever anything good in the news?
Any marathon, town fair, etc, etc. that could possibly put a smile on our face.

It's a PR professional's dream is what it is. If you've got something to promote and send them a news release, it looks like you'll have about a 90% chance of being invited as a guest.

Very true. It does seem like more people are in audiences on the show now and they are usually the guests, which is really good, I just don't like how the show is set up anymore.

I agree. That is exactly the perception I have as well about the TV news here. It is like ghetto news.
