Hi All! I am a 23 year old male looking to relocate to another city soon. I have been to San Antonio on multiple occassions and really enjoyed myself. I have a few friends that are there now, however they are in the military. I love the weather and the fact that the cost of living is not too high. I have an Associates and Bachelors in IT along with a A+ and Network+ certification. I am currently working towards the CCNA certification now. Are there plenty of IT jobs there? I know its hard landing a job in another state especially when you are a 1000 miles away. Would it be safe to move to San Antonio without a job lined up first. I have enough funds to make the move and pay rent for atleast 4 months. Just wanted to get some input from people that live in SA and know the job market there. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

If you have a secret clearance , you can get into DoD contracting.

Try the following groups;
Hospitals
Universities
Insurance
Banking

If you don't have a LinkedIn account , get one, most recruiters, internal and external, look favorable at that.

Good luck in your search!

Watch Dice.com, look for Avaya job postings in San Antonio, they have a lot of government contract jobs (I sub for them well above the aforementioned $16-18/hour).

PM me if you want more info or specifics.
