On occasion, we have to unlock the gate, dis-able the electric fence, issue exit visas, then open up the roads for those that hate it here and want to leave. If memory serves me right, firstclassflyer (or firstclassflier?) left this way.

There is an ad in the paper for a small corner available to rent. No utilities. So many people have moved here in the past few years that I think the Texas hospitality has been diluted quite a bit. Actually there is still a lot of hospitality left, just not as much as when I got here 30 years ago from the cold dark northeast. I love the pictures my family sends me of the snow while I sit on the patio with a margarita. It's 94 today...love it.
C'mon down and sit a spell. Bring me a nice present and I'll give ya the combination after I see the present.

We still welcome folks.....but not when they want to change things because "that's the way it was back home." This IS "home", now - and that means all the social programs and big government can stay OUT.

Default With my thanks

I love all of the welcome I have gotten from all y'all. Some sweeter than others. I didn't expect anything less than your best welcomes, and I got them. I take it good naturedly and hope that someday when I am there basking in the sweltering heat sucking down margaritas by the pool or a cold Corona that some of you will stop by and we can swap stories. Your welcomes are nothing short of beautiful.

Is that Corvette one of the Texas state police squad cars? Awesome, pictures is all I can say.

I love the Welcome to New Mexico sign as well.

thumbs up

Don't expect this yankee to be a big government guy. Just expect me to be a quiet relaxed golfer.

I've never seen a DPS Corvette, but Kerrville used to have one...

The SAPD is getting sneaky with suckers like this...
