The agony of listening to fireworks outside city limits has already started six days out. Does anyone know if there is a time-of-day cut-off...or can they shoot them 24/7 if they want to ?

Get used to it is all I can tell you. When San Antonio outlawed them inside their city limits, we got all the Yahoo's with a few bucks to throw away and a cooler in their trunk out here in the Bulverde area.

Exactly, it could be much worse. As I understand it you can shoot fireworks all year long as long as you're outside city limits or there's no ban in place. Dealers are limited on selling them for only 20 days out of the year. Once the 4th of July passes you might hear some on the 5th a few on the 6th and that should be it till New Years. All I say is try to enjoy them, it's only for a couple of days.

Yes, I guess that's what I call it when I have to watch my dog throw up and shake for hours, despite medication and turning on anything I own for white noise.

If you would re-read my post, I am noting that they are ALREADY starting a week EARLY- not about hearing them explode on the 4th-6th.
But I do appreciate you passing along information that they are allowed ALL year long. Many people are probably like us, and had no idea when house-hunting that fireworks would be allowed in close-knit, suburban neighborhoods where homes are close together. Some people do have issues with their pets or getting small children to sleep.

It IS a valid complaint. It is very annoying especially with pets. Or if say, you still have a job you have to get up and go to the next morning. Inconsiderate people suck. They drag it on way too long there, too and burn ban? What burn ban?? They don't care so you may as well hose down your roof just in case. Funny how if it doesn't bother *you* it's petty and not worthy of discussion.

Fireworks annoy the crap out of me. I am glad that they only pop them twice a year.. Even though they are able to do it 365 days a year.. no one thinks about it the other 363 days. Thank god for that!

Have you tried a Thundershirt yet?

Actually worked for one of mine - the other two could t care less about thunder or fireworks.

Well you start hearing them a week earlier because that's when they begin selling them. Do you really expect some people to buy fireworks and just wait till the 4th?

I understand the dog issue and you didn't mentioned anything about your dog. I used to have an outdoor pit and he would get scared if he was outside the house but inside nothing. Now we have a small indoor chihuahua and all she does is sleep and doesn't even hear them. I heard a few fireworks go off last night and she was snoring.
