hey guys
my father is buying a house that needs foundation repair (1 wall crack and floor unleveling present). its' never been repaired before. can anyone suggest trustworthy companies that provide lifetime guarantee on the work? thanks

Uh no, that's not the smart way to do this. Never have a foundation company come out to evaluate if they need to do work on your house. Of course it's going to need work....but maybe it doesn't. Or maybe they decide to do a lot more than necessary- are you going to know? Yer letting the guy that's going to charge you determine just how much money it's going to cost. What you need is a good forensic engineer to evaluate the foundation and give you a schedule of repairs. He's not going to do the work but design the work to be done. THEN you call the various repair companies around town for pricing. I'm not aware of any of the repair companies that actually have on staff Licensed Professional Engineers. Most have guys that belong to a foundation association- not even close to the same thing. So I'd suggest getting a good forensic engineer to evaluate it, then the repairs according to his schedule. For an engineer I'd suggest Homer Parker out of Round Rock. He's the best in this part of the US and he's not crazy about over charging for his services.
