These are the graded areas from sidewalk to street. This is so wheelchairs, baby carriages, and the elderly can transition from sidewalk to sidewalk and curb to curb without too much difficulty, passing through a graded slope as opposed to up and down an 8 inch or more curb. They are more frequently installed / created at street corners, though they are very helpful wherever they are made.

There are companies that do this, though it is rumored there is one local company that has historically offered this service to churches and offers this work at a limited cost or free of charge. Has anyone on the board heard of them? If known, please DM their contact info to me. Thanks in advance.

You might try calling your city councilperson and asking if they know. I bet they'd help out.

Is the sidewalk in question a public sidewalk along a street or right-of-way, or is it on private property? If it is on public property, the City may be able get it upgraded to current ADA standards. If it is on private property, responsibilty is going to fall on the owner of the property.

Thanks MattTx and ged_782, the property in question is located on church grounds and it is within the parking area, firmly within the property boundaries.

You're probably looking for Texas Curb Cut. You must be licensed and bonded from San Antonio to cut any curb. Try them at 637-6869

No problem. I was wondering how the link answered your question because it didn't in my opinion. I guess it wouldn't bother me if the poster was just throwing links in almost every thread that are easily found through google.

I am glad some people were able to answer your question.
