I highly recommend Fredrick's, right off of Broadway. We had an amazing dinner there a week ago. Wine, food, and service were out of this world!!!! It is my new fav "high end" restaurant, by far!

Silo is also very good.

Any suggestions for NYE dinner/dancing in the Riverwalk area? Any packages available for festivities? Thanks!

I would recommend Bohanan's across from the Majestic. Great food, amazing presentation, and if you can reserve a table overlooking Houston street, a truly memorable experience. And definitely a local experience.

You can also try the restaurant "Circa 1900" ,1220 E Commerce St. If you want something unique, this certainly fits the bill. Personally, I am huge history buff, and to celebrate the new year in a place the celebrates so well the past......You got me thinking I may spend New years there myself.

These are terrific suggestions! Guess I'll have to try them all, just not on NYE.

I found out today that the Chart House at the top of the Tower of America is offering a 3 course dinner with 3 choices, chicken something, steak and shrimp, and something else. It's all with salad, dessert. One price, $85.00 each person. It's good food and promises to be a great show. I think I'm going to make reservations there.

I've eaten at the Chart House in New York. I highly recommend it. The food is outstanding, and I'm sure the views will be spectacular on New Year's Eve.

My only worry about the tower/chart house would be traffic afterwards.

You mean the drunk traffic. Which is why I stay home. These people drive bad enough sober, get a little whiskey in 'em and all bets are off.
