Hello,

we just bought a house in River Rock Ranch and looking for a reputable Pool builder.

Keith Zars was mentioned by the home salesman. I already used the forum search here, but the threads are mainly older. We're looking for an in ground lap pool. Is saltwater still the way to go and which company would you recommend?

Thanks!

We're moving to San Antonio next month. From asking around and online research, like you, we kept hearing about Keith Zars. Seems to be well-respected in the area. We'll be closing on our house there (in Boerne actually) the end of this month, and we were quite happy that it has a Keith Zars pool. When we had the home inspection done, the inspector said that company makes great pools.

I've had many neighbors use different pool companies and the only ones that have had very small issues were the ones that used Keith Zars Pools.

Something will always go wrong but as I stated above Keith Zars Pools has taken care of them plus they have the only (A) plus rating.

My impression is that all the pool companies suck to some degree, because they all use the same sub-contractors.

My cousin and his wife used Blue Haven Pools when they bought their new house, and minor issues aside (with sub-contractors) are happy with their pool. They liked their salesman, because he was friendly and did his best to handle issues that the sub-contractors missed (mostly regarding cleanup, etc) and tried to make sure they were happy.

I had a Keith Zars pool put in several years ago and been happy with it.

I did quit using Keith Zars for weekly cleaning service and went with another company. I was not happy with the quaility of cleaning the KZ pool guy provided and he did not inform me whenever I had any issues with the pool leaving me to find out later when it was more costly to fix. Now that I know more about pools, I can usually check the equipment and pool myself for any issues that may arise. For what they charge, I would expect more than what I did get from Keith Zars Weekly Cleaning plan.

I will also vote for Keith Zars. We have been very happy with them.

Also, welcome to Boerne! Let me know if you need any local information.

I switched over to Pool Werx. Pricing is about the same, but owner of this company is very nice and his guys provide better service so far. Best thing is the owner actually answers his phone most of the time. KW is almost always to voicemail for the service dept.
