Its been several weeks and I'm still getting swarms of large black beetles outside my door every morning! Anyone know when they will let up? I can't remember a worse year for them

Yep... they are infesting buildings and businesses.
It's a pest called a ground beetle. They're about 3/4 of an inch to an inch in length, and they're coming in by the thousands in and around buildings to mate.
The tricky thing about these beetles is that they can get into very small cracks. Make sure to get the exterminator to your home or business as quickly as possible, so these beetles don't keep multiplying and becoming an even bigger issue.

June beetles are smaller, rounder and light brown. Ground beetles are thinner but longer and black.

I have not seen even one where we live near Alamo Heights, but when I went to the Blanco and 1604 Target they were everywhere.

The only pest we are dealing so far are the mosquito's.

They're present around the Brooks City Base area. Same as around this time last year. They do get through the smallest cracks in the door so it's nearly impossible to keep them out.

There is no shortage of these beetles downtown by the Bexar County Courthouse. We noticed one or two of them on Friday and when we came back to the office on Monday, there were dozens and dozens of them.

My old fire station out in the county used to get these every year. We used to stage beetle fights, putting one aggressor vs. another. It was kinda fun to watch.

On the subject of June bugs... out at the station, there would be a literal plague of them every 3-4 years. Mountains and mountains of June bug carcasses were left behind, especially underneath parking lot lights or the coke machine. Birds never had it so easy to feed, but the stench of all of these decomposing bugs was overwhelming for the few hundred that were left uneaten.

^^^ I remember same with crickets. Businesses have been inundated with the odorous onslaught of dead crickets that have been trapped inside walls and have collected on sidewalks. Many were found on car dealers parking lots.
