I am a homeowner in the Alamo Ranch area and I have some information to share that was passed on to me by our community representative. Those of you that live in the area may have heard about an online petition that was started in the community that was against the proposed building of Low Income Housing on Wild Pine next to the Alamo Ranch Apartments. That petition was designed to get the attention of City officials and it worked. An official petition is now needed so that city officials Sergio "Chico" Rodriguez, Aurora Sanchez, and Judge Wolfe can take those signatures to Austin to further oppose the issue and keep low income housing out of Alamo Ranch. Community representatives will be at the Community Center and Pool Area at the Terraces at Alamo Ranch at 5715 Pioneer Path this afternoon only from 6:00-8:30pm. The gates will be open until 8:30pm so that anyone that is interested in signing the petition can stop by. Any member of your household 18+ is eligible to sign.

Is there a certain district or zip code you have to be a resident of? I would like to copy your post and put it on my facebook for the people I know still living in that area.

There will be an as needed petition on Sunday June 8, from 9 am - 1 pm at the pool area in the Terraces of Alamo Ranch. Everyone in your household can sign as long as they are at least 18 years of age. All residents of Alamo Ranch can sign, any neighborhood in Alamo Ranch. As needed would be if they do not get enough signatures from last attempt. I will update as soon as I get the info.

Alamo Ranch is located in zipcode 78253, so I'm guessing for the signature to be of any use the homeowner must live in that area.

Thanks. Wasn't quite clear when you said "in the area." I hope there are enough people who live there to stop this from happening.

Low income housing should stay inside the loop and downtown areas, not the suburbs.
