HEB's usually have them this time of year. Of course you pay an arm and a leg for them as compared to buying them in NM. I do miss that smell of Chiles roasting this time of year. The Tex Mex here does not even compare to New Mexico Red and Green Chile.

The new HEB on Wilderness Oak has a sign that says they'll be roasting Saturday and Sunday (16th and 17th.)

The only problem with HEB is that they have no idea how prepare green chile. You are supposed to roast them, and then peel the skins off. We put Green chile on burgers after they have been roasted, not raw in the raw patty. No one in NM puts raw Green Chile in brownies, that just makes no sense.
The proper way to eat green chile is to roast it, peel it, chop it, and put it on your favorite foods, like burgers, enchiladas, eggs, and yes even Pizza.

That's what I was thinking. If you've been to HEB in the past 2 weeks, you couldn't possibly have missed the presence of those things. There is signage in every corner of the store.
