I wonder how the other states with voter ID laws have been getting by. Makes me think that either our law is too restrictive (i.e. not allowing student ID) or it's just something to write about. Granted, it is frustrating to have to produce all those documents, but everyone should have a copy of their birth, marriage, divorce or name change documents. Texas has the most restrictive voter ID law in the country. Two states have seen a 2-3% reduction in voter turnout over the past 10 years after passing voter ID laws. Most of the reduction in voter turnout was among African Americans. I wonder how many of those African Americans were illegal immigrants.

Some politicians see the voter ID laws as a political strategy rather than something that actually combats voter fraud.
