Has anyone ever had personal experience using craigslist or someother online help service to rent a truck or a handyman with a truck for a pickup and delivery? I just got a nice new recliner but to deliver it would be 130. It only needs to be driven about 5 miles but was thinking about looking into craigslist or a handyman with a truck to go with them and pick it up and deliver it. Is there such a service or is it best getting a small uhaul for a hour with a lift? Thanks

Lowes rents a pickup truck for $19 or something pretty cheap. If you have the ability to lift it and unload it that's probably a good option. I've used people off Craigslist for odd jobs but never for something like this.

We used to just rent the Home Depot truck for an hour. It's $20 and they don't charge per mile like Uhaul.

$130 for a delivery? That's a ripoff, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I don't think I'd buy something unless I was certain how I'd get it home either. One potential problem with renting the lowes or Home Depot vehicles is availability.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I was going to go with lowes truck rental but then my yardman ( whom I am never around to really see ) offered to do it and as I trust him more than a handyman I never would of met, I went that route.
