On Tuesday I was driving home on 90 West. In the area just before the 151 exit I heard what sounded like a rock him the side of my car towards the rear. I thought it was strange as there were no vehicles immediately in front of me that would have kicked up a rock. I get about a mile further and had a flat tire.

This morning a work mate of mine, who also drives that route, said he got up this morning and had a flat tire on his truck. He got if fixed and came to work. He parked in the parking lot, and about 15 minutes ago someone came and told him he had a flat tire on his truck. This isn't the same tire he had replaced this morning.

This makes us wonder if there is some kind of small debris (nails, screws, etc.) on 90 that is causing these flats. Has anyone else experienced this in the past few days?

Sporadic flat tires due to truck and construction traffic are not uncommon. I got a flat tire near 35 and 410 two summers ago and told some co-workers and they said they had and knew people who had gotten flats in the area too. Understandable due to the construction. Also, I had some co-workers get flats near St. Mary's and Brooklyn while they were building the hotel right there. I think you two just got lucky that it happened so close to each other.

I also forgot to mention that on my way home yesterday, I saw 2 more cars pulled over with flats in the same general area. Maybe it is just coincidence.

Notify TXDOT of the situation and see if they can send out someone to inspect that area. Knowing SA it would not be beyond someone to dump a box or two of nails on the roadway just for spite.

Funny thing about this is that the wife drives 151 to 90 to 37 and back daily and I have fixed more flats in her tires then I have had in my own history of driving (30yrs)

I had an appointment in Westover Hills yesterday and took 90 to 151 from downtown. Also got a flat, dang it. Could be coincidence but maybe not. It seems like it deflated pretty quickly because I never got a tire pressure warning. Well, not until after I parked.
