I was wondering how much technology is used/ available in the schools in the NEISD, particularly TEJEDA Middle. Are there SmartBoards? Computer classes? Use of Chromebooks? Tablets? how are the children being prepared in technology specifically?

NEISD is careful to distribute technology equally across all of its schools. All middle schools in the district has smart boards and computer classes. Not sure about Chromebooks and tablets. Tejeda opened in the mid 00s, so it has an advantage, since it was built with technology in mind.

Tejeda's in an area of the city with some of the most expensive housing, so its economically-advantaged kids probably have more exposure to those tools at home than at school.

Garner middle had smart boards in use as far back as the late 1990s.

All NEISD schools have SmartBoards and computer labs. In addition there are carts/trunks with ChromeBooks, netbooks, laptops, MacBooks, and iPads, depending on the school. It is not a 1:1 ratio.
