i live in what i thought was a decent complex. on the outside, it looks great. prices are affordable. landscape is maintained. maintenance fixes stuff fast.

however, it seems i have 2 disgusting neighbors that the management wont do anything about. one is next door to me, the other is above me on the second floor. both have the disgusting habit of leaving their trash out for WEEKS before taking it to the dumpster. mind you, the dumpster is about 100' from all of our doors, so there is really no excuse for this.

my next door neighbor happens to be an old lady with DV tags on her car. management has told me that she's supposed to call maintenance to take her trash out.

the upstairs people are young, just trashy.

there is no excuse for this type of behavior! the old lady next door FINALLY took out the trash that had been sitting out there for 9 days last night... so what does she do? puts a big bag of trash out the next day.

ive been complaining about this since i moved in. its disgusting. its a health hazard.

when the upstairs neighbors took out their trash a few days ago, they left a trail of an unknown liquid going all the way from their apartment upstairs to the dumpster.

can i call the city on this? if not, then can i call anyone or am i stuck living next to disgusting slobs til my lease is up?

The complex management should take care of it. It will be a lot smellier once the weather gets hot.

Personally, I would probably take the old lady's garbage out when I took mine. It's just as easy to carry two bags as one.

What she said. ^^^
I would have no problem taking out an elderly lady's trash...it's how most Texans are raised.
As far as the slobby youngsters upstairs.....let management deal with it.

1. How about you take your old lady neighbor's trash out.

2. So what if the people above you don't take their trash out? It's not like you can smell it.

3. Move to a more expensive place.

Don't blame you - after all, why inconvenience yourself and be thoughtful and kind to some elderly person? I'd bet your family is proud of the independent, self-serving child they raised!

I would take the old lady's trash out. Call 311, who knows, they may be able to help. The young lazies upstairs need to be called in on to the landlord.

A more expensive place sometimes comes with a little better stuff in the trash, but no guarantee that it makes it off the porch in a timely manner. Scope out the potential new property at different times and different days to get a feel for what's really going on. Also, get out and walk in the grassy areas and see how much dog crap there is. I don't know what the hell is wrong with apartment dwelling pet owners but they are pigs when it comes to dog poop. Absolute pigs.

Put the trashbags on the hood/trunk of their car. Maybe they will get the message.
