I'm impressed that "plethora" and "moon pie" could be used in the same post!

I finally had one yesterday. Banana flavored. (Tetco stations sell them.) Okay. Kind of a letdown.

I prefer the Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme cookies.

I didn't like them at first either. I guess they're kind of an acquired taste.

One attribute Moon Pies have going for them that has not been mentioned is that they will hold up in summer heat. You can leave a moon pie in a parked vehicle on any summer day, and it will stay edible and intact. Other than a Twinkie, there aren't too many other sweet treats that have that kind of durability.

"Plethora" is my favorite word and I try to use it once a day. Now "moon pie", that is another story. LOL

I've never had one... It looks good.
They sell them by the boxload at Sam's Club. Until I find a place that sells them in smaller proportion, I will never eat one in my life

You can buy ONE at any little convenience store. They're like 49 cents, so if you take a bite and don't like it, you aren't out a whole lot. Go ahead, take the plunge. Your wallet and your waistline will be OK.

"Plethora" is one of my favorite words, too. I also like "potentate," but it's much harder to work that one into a conversation.

The NISD Superintendent, a powerful potentate, could not understand the plethora of comments on CD about Moon Pies. He instructed his wife to go out and get a sampling of this concoction. After he tasted several different flavors, he called up the Head Nutritionist at NISD and told her "let them eat Moon Pies!"
