Question for anyone who might remember, i was driving past evers and wurzbach yesterday and had a question. Where Fargo's pizza used to be in that shopping center was there a grocery store in the back? Just wondering.

This could not have been the original Henry's, which was located at 3202 W. Woodlawn. Their first restaurant was open from 1978-1986 and was tiny, with only 6-8 tables. Since Shaq was in the 1992 draft, it was probably their third location, which was on Bandera, near Woodlawn, in a former Luby's, or they could have still been at their 2nd location on Woodlawn next to the tiny
place.

It was the 2nd location... Not the old Luby's, but the small building right before that. After Henry's moved to the old Luby's it became a henry's seafood place... but it didn't last long....

what was Wyatts? Was it like Luby's????

Wyatt's was a cafeteria like Luby's. My 84-85 kriss-kross directory lists three locations for San Antonio: Ingram Park Mall, 8511 Tesoro, and 7900 I-35. If I'm remembering correctly, there was one in Rolling Oaks Mall where the Chinese buffet place is now.

I can't remember where the Wyatt's was located in Ingram Park Mall.

It was located upstairs by Sears, it was a jailhouse cafe after Wyatt's. I think a store that sells shooting pull stuff is there.

I remember "Griffs"! Their burgers were something like 5 for $1.25. Ok...this was like a bajillion years ago, but they were good burgers. My parents would pick up a bag on the way to the drive-in movies!

There was also a Wyatt's at Loop 410 & Babcock where Christian Senior Services is currently located. I remember when I worked nearby (circa 1980), that location would really pack 'em in at lunchtime. In some cases the manager would have to ask already-seated patrons if others could join them, because there were no more tables available for the scores of people coming off the serving line.

Me and my buddies would pedal our Stingrays a couple of miles to Griff's on Austin Hwy. and, for about a buck apiece, pig out on two cheeseburgers, fries, and a milkshake. We were always glad that the ride back home was mostly downhill.
