There was a Spartan Atlantic on Military Drive and Roosevelt across from Cap'n Jims and the Trail Drive in. The other Spartan's was over on Goliad and S.E. Military. This one had the HEB next to it.
Hey! You remember Brooks Pkwy. Wow! Thought I was the only one. So your saying Globe was where Solo Serve was ?

Gonna really test your age now. Do you remember Everybody's at Flores & Military? How about Alamo Enterprize , the old fenced in trailer place where Albertson's was and Blockbuster still is?

Actually, I remember Woolco being a stand alone store. They built the mall as an addition to Woolco with an exit on the side of the store. The mall was very small and it ended where the movie theater was (UA Movies 4). That was the end of the mall. This was in the early to mid 70's.

Globe was west of Solo-Serve. I twas where the Chuck E. Cheese is. There is also a Barnacle Bill's (Formerly Bill Miller) on the other side of it.

There is a little park behind the Building where Globe/K-Mart was. We used to hang out at the park and watch them build it.

O.K. Globe was WHERE K-Mart was. That's what I thought . Spartin Atlantic was at Military & Roosevelt also I agree. They built SPM right before my eyes I either lived right behind or was just coming back to Halandale area wnen they were building it. I just can't get my little mind to remember. Woolco I just cannot picture there. But there definately was a Woolco at one of the above locations at one time or another . I remember the one on Fair next to where Builder's Square was , now Home Depot

Everybody's is out of the question for you because it must hav closed 1961. If you know where Solo Serve was (now Walgreen's and some Appliance store is ) at Flores and Military. It was a little old building almost like a short strip center and it sat right out next to Military Dr so close you had to park slanted in front of it to get out of the street. I had very faint memories of this place and ran into a guy about a year ago and he remembered the name. It was a little cafe named Everybody's and it had maybe a little barber shop next to it.
It might have closed even sooner 1960 or 1959.

I can't believe they are putting these stupid medians back on Military Drive. They just did away with them 20 or 30 years ago now there back and worse than ever. I like to talk to the lame brain responsible.
