Hello all,

I'm from CA and have been a Spurs fan my whole life. I've always said I needed to go see a Spurs game in the playoffs but always made excuses. I'm making a 5 day trip the 20-24th of this month and am going to the game on Monday, May 22nd. On the 20th I plan to watch the game at a bar. What would you suggest for a great atmosphere? I see San Antonio has a city center near the arena; is that where the river walk is? I haven't done any online searches as I'm posting this right after I bought my tickets, booked the hotel and flight. I'm super excited.

I've never been to San Antonio before and I will be traveling alone.

Thank you in advance for all suggestions.

The arena near downtown is The Alamodome. The Spurs haven't played there in 15 seasons. They play at the AT&T Center, a few miles east of downtown.

The Ticket is the biggest downtown sports bar. I've never been there, but if you're staying near the River Walk, it is likely the best option.

Two of my favorite are the Alamo St Eat Bar (a place with food trucks) and Friendly Spot. They both have a huge outdoor screen from Slab Cinema. Great atmosphere. Another fun place is Sanchez Ice House, it's #PuroSanAntonio

All are very near downtown.

I booked a hotel in east San Antonio. Figured I'd rather be closer to the arena. Would it be better to stay downtown? I'll most likely rent a vehicle since I get a very good government discount. I'll play it by ear. Thank you for the suggestion

It would be much better to stay downtown than the East Side. It's not a far drive to the AT&T Center and you'll be right in the heart of the city hearing the cars honk when we win
