So, I've been a long-time member of AAA from the Mid-Atlantic area, and I got my renewal notice and I'm wondering if there is an incentive to switching to AAA Texas? Some things offered in Mid-Atlantic are not offered in Texas such as loadable travel Visa cards. But other than that, I am not aware of any differences. Anyone?

Unless you are maintaining an address of record in another region, I don't think AAA offers memberships to residents outside of the territory that a particular regional club serves. IOW, you can't choose to join AAA Texas if you live in New Jersey, and you can't join AAA Mid-Atlantic if you live in Texas. The exception would be for active members of the military who are stationed in one part of the country, but maintain a "home" address in another State or territory.

If you go to the AAA website, it prompts you for your ZIP Code. If it is in Texas, it directs you to the AAA Texas website.

While what you're saying is factual, the reality is that aaa mid Atlantic has had no issues with the fact that I moved to Texas. And I have used aaa services in TX without an issue.

So again my question. Any motivation to switch to aaa Texas ?

It may me tough to find someone with first-hand experience maintaining an out-of-region AAA membership. You certainly can't sign up for a new membership from another region as a Texas resident; and supposedly, AAA only allows members to maintain out-of-region until expiration, where a renewal will be offered through the AAA branch that serves the member's new location. Maybe Mid-Atlantic is an exception?

You might do better posting this on the Texas forum to increase the odds you will find someone who has had a similar experience.
