I see that both of these are rated very well. Do you all know if one is significantly better than another? If so, why?

As with any school district, it depends on where in the district you live. For the most part, these are great districts. however, they do have their schools (at every level - elem, MS, HS) that have their struggles and aren't as strong as others in the district.

They are both great districts. I think NEISD has more of a overcrowding problem than NISD.

They are both big school districts. I wouldn't generalize either of them. You simply have to research the individual schools you are interested in.

Do what my wife and I did when we were making the choice: Visit each district's office and tell them you're considering moving into their district and want some basic information. You'll likely see a difference in the quality of the response you get.

If you know what schools' attendance areas you're considering, visit those schools, too. Above all, don't just rely on other peoples' opinions for such an important decision.
