It won't take long unfortunately. Potranco/1604 used to be an area only a few of us had heard of. Probably less than 5% of the people I worked with in 2001 knew the area I was talking about when I moved out here.

As far a me liking what my surroundings look like, give me the good old days before all the houses went up. I'll take the trees over roof tops and privacy fences any day. That's what I call going down hill.

Well, given that I'm from the other side of the red river, I would turn tail and git if I's was you. Sharpydove wasn't gettin aggressive, she was speakin her's mind. If there were a bar fight, you would lose, son. If you's wanna see a red dirt road, country road, down-home dirt road you come visit good ole Oklahoma where the serve sweet tea second nature.

Camper is not anybody's son and no need for an Oklahoma invasion, especially in a location nobody from OK even knows anything about..

scoolmarm,
From your post, it sounds like you are having way more than sweet tea. Camper made some good points!! There's no "bar fight" going on here. You better take care of your own side of the Red River.

Whew... It's a good thing I'm not in a bar then. I do remember never to sit with your back to the door and don't let the path out get blocked.

I remember a few folks selling fruits and vegetables back in the 70s and 80s at that intersection...and usually it was one old farmer that made an occasional appearance throughout the seasons.
I have to admit though, during my last visit to see my folks, the selling has gotten way out of hand with as many as 5 groups pulled over and hawking items out of their trucks or vans with traffic pulling into and off of Potranco Rd. And yes, rd....the puppies were out in full force!!

Flying in Thursday for another visit and I'm curious to see if anything has improved...

The Bullet Hole has improved. They are still working on it, but it has improved quite a bit. I'm sure your dad won't mind dragging you out there

I remember when you drove out here to get away from it all. And it used to feel like it took forever to get to Bandera.
