I have heard that there might be a new medical center for the west side of town at the intersection of 1604 and 151? Does anyone know more about it?

I saw on this website http://www.birnbaumproperty.com/PDF/Culebra%20%26%201604.pdf (broken link) for the shops at culebra a piece of property for a 400 bed hospital.

Has anyone heard anything else?

Yes, it's the Westover Hills Medical Center. There are three hospitals planned off 151 near 1604.

Methodist
Baptist Health
Christus Santa Rosa

But aside from the hospitals there is tons of medical offices and facilities underconstruction and planned.

Here are two different articles detailing Westover Hills Medical Center.

No offense, but 1604 + 151 are not the westside.
Oh, and i would not doubt that. Everything else is moving out there.

I live on the West side. The *near* west. We're getting a new Walgreen's. Whoo-f*ing-hoo. Oh and a new homeless shelter thing which seems like a fine idea, but then theyr'e closing the SAMM shelter nearby so what's that gonna do as far as capacity?

*sigh*

If this neighborhood is ever going to go the way of Mahnke park, which I kinda thought it could... we're going to need more than that! I don't want complete gentrification, just an upswing and visual improvement.

151/1604 is indeed the westside. It's not "The Westside", but it's the west end of town. Culebra generally marks the boundry between west and northwest.

far west side for me

but anyhow, has anyone tried any of the doctors there? I'm retired military with Tricare and was looking for a doctor that's close to my house and this is about as close as it gets.
Here's a list of the doctors according to their site: CHRISTUS Health (http://www.christuswestoverhills.org/our_physicians.html - broken link)

So, is there any benefit to having medical facilities so close to your home? I'm just wondering how it helps property value, how it affects the area. Could this be the 2nd medical center? Just a thought.
