Someone has parked a giant 10 ton uhaul moving van in front of my house.
Has not moved, been there at least 3 days now...

Can't identify any nearby neighbor who knows anything about it, somebody down the street must be storing it for a while.

Do I have any legal recourse? They put it there before the garbage pick up and right against my garbage can. So no pick up for me.

I don't want to interrupt the chief's TV appearances with this minor problem.

Besides, cops are often the worst folks to ask for legal advice.

Call U-Haul with the license tags and unit number. Never know, it could be stolen.

Call it into 311. They’ll tag it and “haul” it away if no one responds to the tag. My parents have neighbors who park their old btruck on the side walk every now and then and leave it for weeks. We’ll call 311 and they’ll come out and check on it.

Parking a vehicle on a public street in COSA city limits for more than 24 hours without moving it, is considered "Storage", and is a violation of city ordinance. As has been mentioned, best to call 311 & report it. They should tag the driver's window with one of those bright-color fluorescent stickers, then tow it if it is still there the next day.

If you're out in the county, you may be out of luck, unless you have an HOA.

uhaul sent folks to fetch it (using a key, no tow)

good thing folks were not locked in the back of the box van, or maybe they were, will never know

311 yielded nothing (after 24 hours)
