I'm looking for year-round lap pools, preferably in the downtown/southside area or within about 15 minutes of downtown. I currently swim at the San Antonio Natatorium on E. Cesar Chavez, which is a great pool, but I wouldn't mind finding a pool in a gym that also has weights and other exercise equipment. In a perfect world, the pool would be open until 9. I would consider a private gym with membership fees or a public/school facility.

I've tried the Davis-Scott Y on the east side, but the pool feels small and the water is a bit warm. I've also tried the Y at Potranco, but that's kind of far. Anybody have any other recommendations?

My first suggestion was the Natatorium, but it sounds like that's not a good fit which I understand because it can get really crowded and loud sometimes. A quick google search shows the Brooks City Base Gold's has a pool - https://www.goldsgym.com/sanantoniogoliadtx/amenities/. I have also gone swimming at Palo Alto. It was just one time and it was close to their closing time, but it was very large and open - https://www.alamo.edu/pac/experience...hletic-center/

Thanks for the suggestions! I really like the Natatorium, but I was hoping for a pool with later hours and additional exercise equipment. At the Natatorium, they throw the kids out at 6:30, so it's actually very pleasant between then and closing time (7:45).

I called the Gold's Gym, but they keep the pool temperature at 90 degrees. Yuck! Barf! Can't swim laps in such warm water.

Palo Alto sounds great. I'm going to check that out.

I swim at Gold's on Bandera/1604 and Culebra/1604 (however Culebra is outside).
I've swam at Gold's across the city and during the winter they do have a heated pool, but I've never been in any that are 90 degrees.

Right now, the pools are room temperature and comfortable to do laps.
