That Stacey tower isn't going anywhere because it doesn't have funding, so for all those folks who are freaking out about it, I wouldn't worry.

Austin's DT will never have the character or history of SA's, no matter how many fancy six-figure condos they bulid. SA has a downtown for real people, and it's something to be proud of.

It didn't work in OKC and it won't work in Austin. Building a non-master planned Riverwalk canal system isn't the easiest thing to do and most cities just create a massive cement hole, stick some touristy crap in it and hope for the best.

San Antonio has nothing to worry about. We've got the real deal.

I believe in the conservation society but I think it has outlived its usefulness in modern day downtown San Antonio. Like or not everyone is competing to get our tourist dollar and we better shape up before our market share decreases.

Hummm....having been down town this weekend...I am not to worried about a lack of tourist in San Antonio...it IS and will remains #1:

Statistically, SA kills everywhere else for out of state tourism...I saw the numbers a while back, let me see if I can go find them again....

Hmmm...from an interesting site (Texas Tourism), but not sure if this is in state as well as out of state. I would have to read a lot more to find out.
