I'm not defending sex offenders and I don't care what they get (the worse the better), but I don't see this as protecting anyone. Offenders can still molest, assault or even rape without a thingy (don't know if I can post the anatomical term here). I read somewhere once that Uniques (sp?) were put in charge of harems because they couldn't have sex but some women preferred them because castrated males could not only get an erection but they could stay "up" longer.

I had my first dog fixed when he was 3 years old. He still got erections afterwards. But you don't even need an erection to rape people with objects.

Does this castration also apply to women offenders?

Basically what I'm saying is that they only way that victims will be saved is that these sick offenders stay in jail the rest of their lives. This registry thing isn't good enough. If you still want to castrate them go ahead but leave them in jail after you do it.

Castration does not stop the desire. Cut it all off and the mind still works. Even hormone injections do not affect the desire. It's a good punsihment, but does not solve the problem. I don't think there is a solution except to keep them in jail.
I do know some "sex" offenders are mislabled. Some have been deemed sex offenders because crime they committed involved a child, not necessarily a sex offense. Like child endangerment or child abuse. Not that that is any better, it's just the wrong label. Remember, rape is not a sex offense, it's a crime of hate.
Education and therapy does not help the sex offender either.
Almost all the true sex offenders have molested a child or adult they know or are related to, by marriage or not. Having the offenders register only makes us aware of how many offenders there is, and where they are. They do not usually (I said usually) stalk strange children or adults. That goes for men and women(yes woman are sex offenders too).
Cut it all off, but do not relax and think it is a solution to the problem.

Right I agree with you, but it's a start and you gotta walk before you can run. Yes it should include females. Your right it doesn't take away the mental issue but you know what if it hurts them or takes from them I'm ok with that.

I'm personally for keeping them in tent cities all their life or prefer an island to themselves where they can learn to survive on their own and out of our society.
