Target and UPS hiring thousands for holiday rush. Target plans to hire more than 130,000 seasonal employees for the holiday rush and is doubling the number of workers who will handle digital orders at stores. Target raised its minimum hourly wage to $13 in June and has said it will pay employees $15 an hour by the end of next year.
The company will hold hiring events Oct. 11-13 and Nov. 2-3 at all of its stores.

UPS expects to hire about 100,000 seasonal employees to help with an uptick in packages. The positions include package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers, the company said.
