Has anyone scheduled a Global Entry interview at the San Antonio airport recently? I'm trying to schedule online and it only shows one appointment - March 24 at 9:45 am - for the rest of the year. Is this possibly correct? If I check other Texas cities, they don't have anything until early to mid March, but then they have plenty of availability - many appointments per day. Sure hope I won't have to drive to Austin to get this done.

I'm thinking of going to the airport and stopping by in person. Does anyone know if the office is before or after the security checkpoint? I can't find it on the airport map.

It has been a few years, but the office was at the baggage claim level in the Southwest terminal. It could be accessed without going through security.

I would walk in and ask for assistance. I think that is what I did on my renewal.

Good job finding the number! It wasn't on the site where you make appointments. However, they were unable to take my call and their voice mailbox was full. I'll try again tomorrow during the day - maybe they have more coverage then.

Update - I checked the web site again and the entire month of April is now wide open with 20+ appointments per day available, and nothing earlier. I would have preferred sooner but I can live with this. I guess the lesson is to keep checking the web site a couple times a day.

I did mine 4 years ago (need to renew later this year) and it was tough. I logged on just as the freed up some slots. I had to take my son to Laredo for his appointment later that year, they were booked up for 6 straight months.

Smart move getting GOES Global entry, fast pass at airport TSA screening and customs at land borders...plus you don't need to get the Texas Real ID.

Texas driver’s licenses are all Real ID compliant if renewed or issued recently. There is no option to get a non-compliant driver’s license.

The catch here is that if you are in the bubble years (too soon to renew without financial penalty) then you will have to pay to upgrade to real id. My DL is not set to expire until March 2022. I can't go renew mine until after my birthday to get a real ID license unless I want to pay for renewing it sooner than 2 years prior to expiration.
