I thought anybody who wants to, can go to the polls on election day and cast their vote.
I though anybody who wants to can request a ballot, complete the ballot, and mail it to their local election officials. It is recommended that you mail your ballot at least 15 days prior to election day to insure delivery. You don't even need postage. Packages lacking postage but post marked by election day, will still be delivered, and the sender subsequently billed for the postage.
That is 2 methods of voting that are there and have always been there.

Look... I'm a former Texas Republican who voted R from Bush through Romney. I just don't understand the party's recent tactics of wanting to prevent people from voting easily - I mean, the Texas Republican Party actually sued the Republican governor to reduce the length of early voting (they lost this week in the Tx Supreme Court: https://www.statesman.com/news/20201...ly-voting-time).
Anyone who can not see the attempts by this administration (and by some who support him) to gum up the mail system, make it more difficult for one particular politically affiliated voter and ultimately make the results of this election murky and questionable (so the results can be contested in the even more conservatively packed Supreme Court if not favorable to the current administration), I do not know what else to say.
SA voters, please mail in your vote ASAP, or drop off your vote in the one drop box in all of San Antonio ASAP. Or if you plan to vote in person, just remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

A federal judge in Texas on Friday halted Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s order that shuttered dozens of mail ballot drop-off sites weeks before November’s election, authorizing only one for every county no matter the size.
Abbott’s order dramatically reduced the number of places in Texas where voters could drop off mail ballots during early voting and most heavily impacted the state’s largest cities, which are also Democratic strongholds. He issued the order Oct. 1 as voters had already begun returning ballots for the Nov. 3 election.
The move brought swift accusations of voter suppression from Democrats and voting rights groups, including the League of United Latin American Citizens, which filed a lawsuit over the order earlier in October.
Gilberto Hinojosa, Texas Democratic Party chairman, said in a statement that Pitman’s decision stopped the governor from “making up” election rules after the election started.
“This important ruling stands up not just for voters but for the Rule of Law,” he added. “This isn’t the first time Abbott and Texas Republicans have tried to suppress the vote, and it won’t be the last.”
Abbott’s order also emphasized that poll watchers can observe ballot deliveries, which comes as President Donald Trump urges his supporters to go to the polling places and "watch very carefully” raising concerns about possible voter intimidation.
Texas is one of just five states not allowing widespread mail-in voting this year. Polls show unusually tight races in America's biggest red state and Democrats could take over the state House of Representatives for the first time in 20 years.

As best I can determine, only counties in Texas impacted by the ballot drop-off ruling are Harris (Houston), and to a lesser extent, Travis (Austin). Those are the only two counties that had more than one ballot drop-off location established, because they both have "satellite" county elections office locations.
