Close to Lackland, Toyota and Port San Antonio so you could probably find renters without a problem.

I might be able to provide some insight. I was recently looking to buy a Starlight Home in the area but ultimately decided against it because of the commute.

However, I have a friend that bought an LGI home in Luckey Ranch in 2019. It was a 3 bed/2.5 bath ~1500 sq. ft. and he bought for $180k and this was before the HEB, Costco, or much of Dove creek was established. With the state of the market, the upgrades to 1604 south of Potranco, and the development in the area his home is now worth about 285k.

Of course the market accounts for most of that, but the development in the area has exploded in the past few years. New Costco last year, and also an Olive Garden and P. Terry's coming to dove creek soon. I am sure it is only a matter of time before a hardware store and electronics store move in to the area and then Dove creek will be in the running with Alamo Ranch and Bandera Pointe as far as shop selection. Bandera Pointe blew up in the 2000s, Alamo Ranch blew up in the 2010s, so maybe Dove Creek is next up in the 2020s.

Rentals in the area are going for 1600-1900/mo so probably will not make much on the cash flow as mortgage rates climb above 5%. But the long term investment seems promising. I can see Dove Creek growing the same way as Alamo Ranch.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions about the area. I've lived in Green Glen Acres near Redbird Ranch for almost one year. But I am moving to Apple Creek soon to be close to my new job.

Hi! I recently moved to SA and have been renting a new LGI home in Luckey Ranch for about 5 months now. I personally think that Luckey Ranch is a good place to live, particularly for families, as its well-maintained, quiet, and feels safe. There are lots of new builds going up and I can see it being an attractive area for military families who are looking for starter homes.
