At least 46 people, believed to be migrants, have been found dead in an abandoned lorry on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas.

A fire official said 16 people including four children had also been taken to hospital.

The survivors were "hot to the touch" and suffering from heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
Emergency responders initially arrived at the scene at about 18:00 local time (23:00 GMT) after responding to reports of a dead body, San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood told reporters.
He added that the vehicle, which had been abandoned by its driver, had no working air conditioning and there was no drinking water inside it.

Truck apparently... cloned??

The death toll from a scorching-hot tractor-trailer found in the Texas sun rose to at least 51 - some of the people died in hospital.
At least three bodies were found strewn along the roadway, with the farthest about 75 yards from the truck, according to a law enforcement.
The driver of the tractor-trailer had been detained while leaving the scene on foot. He said that the driver, whom he did not identify, was stopped by officers in a nearby field and was currently in federal custody.

The discovery in San Antonio led to the arrest of three people.
Hope they get life sentence.

Mexico’s foreign minister, Marcelo Ebrard, said on Twitter on Tuesday that the dead included 22 Mexicans, seven Guatemalans and two Hondurans.

Nothing good ever happens on Quintana Road. Everything gets thrown out there, even humans and human remains.

Why's the driver didn't stop on the 2+ hrs way to San Antonio in some remote location (plenty of them) to open the door and give those people some fresh air?
He KNEW they won't survive the trip without A/C and water.

The outside temperature at 6:43PM registered by my car
yesterday when I went to the Tobin Park.
