We came in from FL where we are living now
Ate nice lunch at Paloma Blanco although w/o GPS we never would have found it—never saw a sign

Ate at Whataburger—non of those in FL—so glad to get a Whataburger and some breakfast tacos

Ate at Hungry Horse in Bourne—not that great chicken steak—mashed potato’s tasted like they were made with water—gravy tasted like something else—
Maybe just what we ate

And we got Schlotsky’s—we don’t have those in our area of FL

know that sounds pretty minimal but didn’t want to drive all over the place—
Sister lives just north of 46 in Spring Branch area—

Had lunch at City Market in Luling one day to meet long time (elem school) friend of my husband’s
Must admit that BBQ was not that great — sausage was good but brisket was dry and ribs were salty
That was disappointment…

Flying back today—
Some things that made us smile are really strange—
Like caliche—dirt in FL is totally different—as is lack of elevation—so the rises and falls, the look of the land w/oak trees made me happy

Went to cemetery my parents are buried and saw deer walking under the oaks—
I love Texas (gate the government right now) but when your only child/grandchild live in FL TX is long way away

If you read her other thread you would know that she chose it because they’re from lulling.

Actually, you do. Just not in whatever area you're living.

North Florida loves them. Tally was the latest one I've been to.

I thought Florida and Texas were pretty much the same type of government these days except Texas has much more church influence when it comes to its laws.
