Feeling annoyed at people supposedly appropriating "residency cred".... Even if the dynamic were true, what a weird and petty flex to bring up. Tell me you're bitter about COL not getting you the pony without saying you're bitter about COL not getting you the pony. lulz

But it doesn't work like that. You can't just stop growth.

Texas, in general, will continue to see new people. What a city like San Antonio needs to do is something they haven't done in the past... Plan for the future. Plan for the growth.

If you think ahead, you can get a better handle on what's coming.

Quite right.

It's akin to the old business adage: It's not what you did for me in the past, but what you're doing for me now and will do tomorrow.

The rules have changed and will continue to. Adapt or die.

I also feel annoyed at people from other states coming here and telling me "Well, in California we did it this way and I miss doing it that way...." or "I got paid X amount in California, why can't I get paid that here?"

Uh.....if that was the case the why did you move here? Cheaper COL? Please come to Texas, but leave the way of life, cost of living and politics behind and enjoy Texas the way it is.

You can wish for that, but it realistically won't happen that way.

People are creatures of habit. They want it both ways, all the time.

I agree it's annoying, but not annoying enough to get bent out of shape about.
