Question for everyone, are the batting cages on recoleta off of San Pedro still open? They are across the street from a closed putt putt golf.

YellowPages.com show The Strike Zone at 13307 San Pedro Ave, is this the place you are thinking about?

My son and I went by the Castle/Malibu Grand Prix (I think the reason no one calls it that anymore is that the go-carts no longer run, do they?) today to try out the batting cage and although we weren't there for long (note to self: buy batting gloves!), we had fun! We both took 25 pitches, and since we bought $5 in tokens we still had 25 left. But blisters kept us from using those, but we will most definitely be back as it is a load of fun!

By the way, they will loan you a helmet and a bat for free (just need picture ID), and although there aren't a lot of cages, when we arrived late in the morning we still could get the cage we want (based on speed desired, up to 70 mph!). We'll go back soon!

Oh, and bring something to drink (water, Gatorade, Propel), as you will work up a sweat quickly!

Cheers! M2

Just curious, as Power Swing is closer to us, does anyone know if the prices are comparable ($2 for 25 pitches at Malibu) and if they have helmets and bats you can use for free?

Cheers! M2
