I am FINALLY here! The first day was a bit confusing, but my husband and I think we have the hang of things. We made sure we saw the River Walk our first night here (last night) and I must say that no picture we have seen does it any kind of justice. Absolutely AMAZING!! We thought it was so funny when the people riding in the river boat chanted Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! to my husband and I. I do believe we'll enjoy it here, just as all of you wonderful posters had promised. So a heart felt thank you to all of you for helping me make this giant move a smoother one. I truly could not have done it without you all! Now, one more question - who the heck do I call to set up for trash collection? lol (I ended up in Creekside BTW) Thanks again and have a great day!!

Isn't it linked to your water bill? But yeah, 311 is always a good place to go if you don't know!

Welcome to San Antonio--glad you got here safe and sound and you're happy so far!

I'm in Creekside, too. We are on the automated trash pickup, so Wednesdays is the regular trash pickup and Saturdays is the recycling pickup. We also have the big rubbish pickup starting on (or happening shortly thereafter) June 23.

Welcome to San Antonio!! We're new too, having arrived only three months ago. We are quickly becoming acclimated to the area and love it (despite the heat! much prefer heat over cold LOL). Hope you enjoy it, and the people, as much as we do!

The trash charges are on the electric and gas bill. It's automatic. If you don't have the big rolling trash cans to put out, they will not pick it up. Call 311 if you need to have the rolling thunder trash cans delivered. There is no charge, at least not a seperate charge. One blue, one brown can.

Welcome to SA, Chris! This board is chock full o' friendly folks (as I'm sure you already know), so feel free to ask any question you may have! It certainly helps ease the confusion of moving into a completely new area...
