Only hot area I've heard of on here was near the medical center in the low $100k's. From work I've also talked with a couple of co-workers that both sold their houses quickly (15-20 days) in the $140k range up on the NE side by Schertz.

lucky dogs! i would no about anything to sell this home. id feel better to just get a looky-lu every now and then!

there are lots of people moving here, over the last 6 years i have met more and more and more people who are from the north. It’s a good thing, at least i think so, they are bringing stuff with them. better food, different stores, they are more "normal" to me being a non native Texan. nothing against Texans, but i can pick a Texan out of a crowd!

I believe the #1 industry in SA is Bio Medical field.

That's a good question, leslie b. Maybe it would be worth a whole new thread. Given all of the news about what's shrinking, I, too, am interested in hearing what's growing.

A friend just sold her house in Helotes in a very short time as well.

But in my neighborhood, where there are still new homes being built by the builder - homes are staying on the market for a very long time. But it depends on what you ask for it. Someone who put too much stuff into it will want to get out of it what they paid, and right now they can't. However, if you went really basic on your house when you built it then you can get the going price for your house and actually make money possibly.

Higher end homes aren't really having a problem selling either, it's the mid ranges from high 100's-300's it seems.
