The biggest concern was distance from the school and the drive down 35, not the school itself. Roosevelt isn't the greatest school, but it's just as good as most, and probably better than a lot of schools in San Antonio.
That I can agree with.

I would rather have my children in any NEISD school rather than Edgewood ISD or SAISD.

Sounds like another possibility. How are the schools out there? I went to Fieldstone's website after reading your comment. The houses look nice, but I didn't see much community information.

Oh please end it already. You and your racial issues are not needed on this forum. You can't provide anything that states the Walzem area to be dangerous. All you'll come back with is demographics that show there's a large black population.

Sure there are small pockets near Walzem that are high crime areas both they're all basically old apartment complexes, 2 maybe 3 tops. Yte you can sit at your computer are write crap after crap about an area you've probably ventured into once in your lifetime.

I fail to see where I'm starting a fight, if so, then there's three or four other posters starting fights with you as well within this thread.

You know, the ones that point out your baseless claims.

I think Windcrest's major problem is that the less than stellar crowd is moving outwards from the inner city. They are chosing the east side since it is more in their price range, west and north west is more expensive south is not developed enough yet. Also, and I'm not trying to be mean, the closer you are to a military base the worse the schools get. It's not that military is bad but realize many of the military kids switch schools on average every 2 years, sometimes more often. That takes its tool on a child's education and consequently on the schools they frequent. I grew up in a military town and saw it all the time. The west side such as Alamo Ranch and anything north of that is more expensive but may be worth the extra expense. I know there are some pretty nice places in your price range on the west side (as mentioned previously) but if I were you I'd check it out more closely (ie in person) the soonest chance you have. Go hang out in the neighborhoods and see what fit you best.

Most of the military kids go to schools on base.

Randolph HS located on Randolh AF Base seems like it was a good school.

I had friends there and they enjoyed it.

The only time kids from there decided to transfer to public schools in their area was for athletic purposes.

Default Roosevelt

Wow...racist much. I had a younger brother and sister who attend Roosevelt from 1996 to 2001 and neither one of them ever complained about the school being bad or violent. I attended Sam Houston HS and they said the same thing about that school, the funny thing is that those same people never even stepped foot inside the school. I had a great experience attending that school and never had any problems.
The only people giving that school and area a bad reputation are people like you. I hope you aren't implying that Mac or Madison are any better than Roosevelt because that is far from the truth.

I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that if NEISD tries to move kids from Mac or Madison to Roosevelt there will be protests.

As far as NEISD HS's are concerned, Roosevelt is the black sheep.

figuratively and literally
