Well I for one do not beleive that she deserves a three year contract extension with a $20,000.00 raise for each year. I love the phase mayor used " She made me 17 million so I think that 20 thousand is not much".

I heard that on the news last night. That is pretty crazy to ask for a $20k raise when so many people are losing their jobs.

Last year she was trying to get rid of about 150 or so law enforcement jobs by trying to eliminating the park and airport police. She wanted SAPD to handle everything!!

Can she manage to fix pot holes and prevent teen pregnancy along with all the other things this city really needs? What is it exactly that she manages?

Insanity!!! I'd say, "oh haaaaaaail no!" Look all around us, wages are going down, there are hiring freezes, people are being laid off, and companies are closing! And she thinks she ought to get a raise of $20K/year?! HA!!!

Good People do continue to get paid well even in bad times. I would suggest she has done an admirable job and the city is running at a surplus. If the city was running at a deficit, I think it would be another matter.

I agree people should get paid for doing a job well done but on the news last night, they said her salary could top out around $350k. I think that her salary now is pretty generous.

I agree. If Fortune 50 companies show great numbers at the end of the year, the CEO's get a raise or bonus. That's the beauty of capitalism. If you do well, you make more money. The city is basically an enormous corporation. More power to her.

While there's a lot of trouble with personal finances nation-wide, our city has done a great job of avoiding most of those problems. I believe the City Manager, Mayor, etc., had a big hand in that, so they should be rewarded.

Not to mention, there are plenty of cities that would love to grab her that DO have serious financial problems--all in an attempt to solve them.

As an aside, if she has to work with Julian Castro as Mayor, she deserves a raise
