Can anyone make any suggestions as to where I should take my husband for a romantic night out. He's new here to San Antonio and I would like to take him to someplace he has never been but where can we have a nice and reasonable dinner and what is a nice spot to hang out at for a few drinks? Please I really need some advice...Our "date" is tomorrow.....

Bohanan's. Get a reservation and see if you can request a window table. After dinner, stroll along the riverwalk and then grab a drink at Zinc.

Scenic Loop Cafe!!! Very awesome place set outside of town a bit. Not sure about prices, but they have a website. You can Google it.

Bohanan's would be about $150 with tip and a couple glasses of wine.

ETA: If you want something cheaper, check out a few restaurants on the river - Boudro's, Zuni Grille, Paesano's. All of these would be about $50 for two people. Anything on the river or downtown will be very romantic this time of year.

I said Scenic Loop Cafe, and I still do think it would be great, but I also kinda agree with others about the fact that downtown is beautiful this time of year. Another favorite of mine personally if you are willing to make a drive to the New Braunfels area is the Gristmill. The river and balconies are beautiful, and the Christmas setup in old town Gruene is beautiful.

Fig Tree Downtown, Kirbys up north. Both will run you about $50 per person plus whatever you drink, plus tax and gratuity.

Not sure ... but when my kiddos asked hubby what he wants for Christmas, at the top of his list was:

A night out with Mommy

I'm not one to leave my kiddos with a babysitter, so at this point I think he'd be happy if it was even just the two of us going to Chick Fil A! LOL

Maryl....if your hub had not dined on the River Walk during the Christmas season, then that is sort of a must! Be sure to be on the "river" level. As already suggested, Boudrou's and Paesano's are excellent choices for romantic dining on a moderate budget. It will be cold out tonight, so bundle up and snuggle. There are plenty of places to duck into after for a night cap or hot toddy! There is street level parking very close by off Commerce.

Take 281 South to the Commerce Street exit. Stay on your left and there is a parking garage just across the river next to Schilo's Deli. Or...stay to your right and turn right on Navarro. There is a parking lot on the right. There are several close places to access the river from either location. I'm not sure what parking rates are right now, but plan on about $10-$15 just in case.

Have a wonderful evening and give us a critique of where you end up!
