The company has closed down or sold 30 properties since 2004. That was when the economy was actually doing good. This may be the year they finally go under.

Well if it does not make it past whatever kind of crisis the country, or city, is going through, it should would look ugly driving from the Rim the the Shops. And make traffic easier when Fiesta Texas is open.

whoever said La Cantera was having financial trouble - which LaCantera are you talking about?

The resort is owned by USAA and not in any trouble that I am aware of.

If you are talking about the mall, well that I don't know about.

The Shops at La Cantera. Owner GGP filed for bankruptcy in November after not being able to repay almost $1 billion debt. It isn't looking good for the company.

The entire 1700 acre master planned area (resort, Six Flags, Shops, apartments, etc.) is owned by USAA. They oversee development and planning for the area.

And Westin (the resort) is owned by Starwood. They tried to sell a year ago, but the buyer backed out.
